Norman Starr loved the outdoors, and along with that interest came fishing, waterfowl and big game hunting. He had owned his own home on a lake along with his dogs, in upper Wisconsin for some time. Many family gatherings and lots of fishing took place there. But his life long dream was to own his own hardware store. Norm was a people person and made people laugh with his good sense of humor. His personality began to bring him in positions with the retail businesses; one included being promoted to General Store Manager for ShopKo. After many years of experiences and the knowledge that came with growing in the retail world, Norman and Michelle decided to move to Langdon, North Dakota. This was just two years ago, that he finally fulfilled his dream of owning his own hardware store, called, the Langdon Hardware Store. Here, in North Dakota, he showed what it took to become the ideal store manager. People loved him because of his energetic drive and compassion to make it work, and he did. The people of Langdon really embraced Norman. He was very much loved and the best store manager this small town could ever want. He will be greatly missed.
