Nora Florence

Nora Florence, 94, of Langdon, ND and formerly of Union, ND passed away Saturday September 15, 2007 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND.

Nora Nelson was born February 14, 1913 near Loma, ND, the daughter of the late Theodore and Inga (Mellum) Nelson. She received her education in Union, ND. She married Howard Florence of Union, ND on December 15, 1939 in Milton, ND. Nora and Howard resided on the Florence farm and farmed for many years. Later they moved to the Nelson farm near Union where she took care of her mother until she entered the nursing home. They then moved to Union, ND and continued to make their home there until they moved to Landon, ND.

Nora was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the WELCA. Nora was very active in the church and enjoyed her Ladies Aide Group. Nora’s life was her family, whatever she could do for her husband, Howard and her children and grandchildren is what made her happy. She loved baking and her specialty was always her lefse.

Surviving are her husband, Howard, three daughters, Mrs. Judy Ullyott, Mrs. Robert (Gaylene) Ullyott, Mrs. Brad (Yvonne) Bata all of Langdon, one son, Ronald Florence of Renton, Washington, sister-in-law, Mrs. Gena Seim, 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Nora was the last living child of the Theodore Nelson Family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers: Norman Nelson, Ernest Nelson, Orlin Nelson, Thelmer Nelson , Luandel Nelson, sisters; Helma Vigor, Alvina Anderson, Tena Florence, Bernice Rustan and son-in-law Allen Ullyott.

VISITATION will begin at 5pm with a 7pm prayer service at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND. Also for one hour before the time of the services at the church on Thursday.

SERVICES will take place at 10:30am on Thursday September 20, 2007 at the Trinity Lutheran Church.

INTEMENT: Zion Cemetery, Union, ND.
