Nora Anderson, 98, of Walhalla, ND passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2011, at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 10, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 9th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a 5:00 p.m. prayer service at the Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND.
Nora was born March 27, 1912, to Halvor and Gunhild (Frogne) Halvorson. She attended Fremont Township Schools #4 and #5, and one year of high school at Moscow High School in Moscow Township. She worked on area farms for various families.
In 1932, she married Hartvig Fulsaas at Vang, ND. After their marriage they farmed in Fremont Township. Hartvig died in 1944. On May 1, 1965, she married Clarence Anderson. They enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and Canada and also made a trip to Norway and the Holy Land. Clarence passed away in 1989.
Some of the many things Nora enjoyed were gardening, cooking, cross word puzzles, playing Chinese checkers with her sisters, and making lefse and potato dumplings. Nora was always willing to help others. She was active in the Big Pembina Lutheran Church its WELCA and making quilts there. As a member of the Nore Numedahl Lutheran Church she cared for the church and cemetery for many years. Other organizations she belonged to were the Sons of Norway and the Walhalla Seniors Citizens.
Survivors include her children: Harvey and Lawrence Fulsaas and Carol (Willard) Gendron, all of Walhalla; grandchildren: Wade Gendron and Sheila (Terry) Brown; great grandchildren: Fawn, Niki, Shona, and Wyatt Gendron; Danny, Kyle, Jim (Jenelle) Brown; Tania (William) McKay; great great grandchildren: Amber Blackburn; Levi, Tucker, Carter, and Cameron Bronstad; Ashten, Jennifer, and Jordan McKay; Carter, Carson, Addison, and Oakly Brown; sister, Ruby Gasink, Walhalla.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; brothers: Christian, Henry, and Gilbert; sisters: Anna, Olive, Helen, Esther, Gladys, and Lillian; and daughter-in-law: Cecilia Fulsaas.
