Nettie Wieler. 95, of Walhalla, ND, passed away Monday, December 8, 2014 at the Pembilier Nursing Center in Walhalla. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla. Visitation will be held Friday, December 12th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla Ambulance, Walhalla Lutheran WELCA.
Nettie was born on November 27, 1919, in Hasket, Manitoba to Peter and Aganetha (Giesbrecht) Letkeman. She lived in Hasket until her marriage to Cornelius Wieler on July 13, 1941. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed in the Walhalla area until 1982. They moved into North Border Estates in December of 2002. Cornelius passed away in 2003. In June of 2007, she became a resident of the Pembilier Nursing Center.
Things she enjoyed were gardening, baking, doughnuts were her specialty, making lefse, quilting with the ladies at the church, spending time with her family, singing and telling jokes. Nettie was a member of the WELCA and babysat for various families in the Walhalla area and also worked for Earl and Margaret Anderson, former owners of the Hilltop Motel.
Survivors include her children: Randall (Carol) Wieler, Walhalla, ND, Cornella Wylie, Park River, ND, Birdella (Quane) Sims, Walhalla; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings: Peter Letkeman, Frank (Agtha) Letkeman, Tillie (Abe) Janzen, all of Morden, MB, Helen Wolfe, Winkler, MB, and Mary (Henry) Siemens, Rosengart, MB.
Also preceding her in death were her parents ; son-in-law, Richard Wylie; siblings:John, Abe, Jacob, Issac, Margaret, Ann, and Mary in infancy.
