L. Myrtle Wolfgram age 95 of Hamilton, ND., died on Thursday, March 10, 2005, at the Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 14, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at the Cavalier Presbyterian Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation on Sunday, March 13th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Hamilton Cemetery, Hamilton, ND.
Lora Myrtle Wolfgram was born August 7, 1909, in Acton, near Grafton, ND., to Henry and Lizzie (Larson) Wolfgram.
On July 2, 1925, she married Harry Oscar Paul Wolfgram in Cartwright, Manitoba. They lived in Raleigh and Shields, ND., until 1938, when they moved to Hamilton, ND. Harry died in October of 1973.
Myrtle operated a cafĩ in Hamilton, cooked and baked at the Miller Cafĩ, Chuckwagon Cafĩ, and the Pembina County Memorial Hospital in Cavalier, and the Pioneer Rest Home, Bathgate.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Hamilton, the Women's Society and the Progressive Homemakers.
One thing the grandchildren remember is that her hands were always busy. Myrtle was an excellent baker, who can't forget the yummy homemade breads, buns, cinnamon rolls, doughnuts, cookies by the dozens and the pies. Many have been on the receiving end of her talents with the quilts, hundreds of Barbie doll clothes for the grand kids. Cabbage Patch doll clothes for the great grand kids, doll blankets, Xmas tree skirts and ornaments, afghans, and doilies.
She is survived by daughters, Eva (Lester) Nelson, Hamilton, ND., Donna Henschel and Darlene (William) Henschel, all of Bathgate, ND., Shirley (Erick) Lawonn, Hensel, ND., son, Virgil Wolfgram, Wahpeton, ND., 20 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, 18 great great grandchildren, brother, Vernon Wolfgram, sisters, Helen Nord and Florence Grumbo
Myrtle was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Gerald Wolfgram, daughter, Fern Marcum, sons-in-law, Reinhold Henschel and Fritz Marcum, daughter-in-law, Myrna Wolfgram, one sister, Esther and three brothers, Edward, Louis, and Art.
