Myrtle Klein

Myrtle Klein, 93, of Langdon and formerly of Alsen, ND passed away December 30, 2006 at the Maple Manor Care Center of Langdon, ND.

Myrtle Horpestad was born March 18, 1913 to Joakim and Marie (Mageli) Horpestad in Henderson, Township. She attended Alsen Public School. Myrtle was united in marriage to Andrew Klein on June 19, 1931 at Langdon, ND. They farmed in Gordon Township until the fall of 1952, when they moved to Banner Township and continued to farm until their retirement in 1972. Andrew passed away January 24, 1981, she then moved to Alsen, ND and worked at the Curling Club Café for several years. Myrtle moved to Langdon in 1994 and became a resident of the Maple Manor Care Center in July of 2002.

Myrtle is survived by her children: Lawrence (Cheri) Klein of Langdon, ND; Leonard (Carolyn) Klein of Munich, ND; Dwayne (Shirley) Klein of Langdon, ND; Merril (LouAnn) Klein of Tolna, ND; Darrol (Marlene) Klein of Minot, ND; Alvin (Barbara) Klein of Alsen, ND; and Richard (Audrey) Klein of Dallas, TX, 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, brothers and sisters: Joe (Faye) Horpestad of Des Moines, IA; Robert (Dorothy) Horpestad of Devils Lake, ND; Marian (Dennis) Hoffart of Grand Forks, ND; Mavis (Roger) Nelson of Park River, ND; Gladys Martinson of Devils Lake, ND and Esther Dahl of Seattle, WA, she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Randy Klein, daughter-in-law Marion Klein, brothers and sisters: Julia Netland, Rosine Klein, Albert Horpestad, Elmer Horpestad and two infant brothers.

VISITATION: Will begin at 3pm Wednesday January 3, 2006 with a 7:00pm Prayer Service at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.

SERVICES Thursday January 4, 2006 at 10:30am at the Emmanuel Evangelical Church of Langdon, ND.

INTERMENT Alsen Cemetery, Alsen, ND.
