Myron Witzel

Myron Witzel, 87, of Langdon, ND, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012 at his home in Langdon, ND.

Myron was born August 9, 1924 to Harry and Hedwig (Harmel) Witzel at Mt. Carmel, ND. Myron attended and graduated from Mt. Carmel. He helped his father farm until 1944 when he married Evelyn Mutcher. Myron and Evelyn were married on October 1, 1944 at the Presbyterian Church of Langdon. They had two sons: Wayne and Darrel of Seattle, WA, four grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.

Myron and Evelyn purchased a farm in 1945 from Evelyn’s father and farmed all their life until 1988 when they retired. They are members of United Lutheran Church in Langdon. Myron was a township supervisor for 30 years and is a charter member of the Eagles Club. He was a good husband, father and grandfather- always willing to help someone in need and cared about people in general. They spent their winters in Arizona from 1994-2012.

Myron is survived by his wife of 67 years: Evelyn of Langdon, two sons, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, four brothers and one sister. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

SERVICES will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 2:00pm at the United Lutheran Church of Langdon, ND with visitation for one hour before the time of services at the church on Thursday.
