Morris R. Gratton age 60 of Walhalla, ND died on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 12, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at the Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 11th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at Walhalla Lutheran Church. Burial will be held in Walhalla, ND. Arrangements with Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND.
Morris R. Gratton was born October 11, 1946, at Langdon, ND to Andre "Buster" and Doranna (Benoit) Gratton. He grew up and attended school at Walhalla, where he graduated from high school and then attended North Dakota State School of Science at Wahpeton. Morris served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as an air traffic controller. After his discharge from the service he worked for Mayo Contruction. He was member of the Walhalla American Legion.
On February 5, 1987, he married Colleen Monson at Langdon, ND.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen; daughter, Alysia Kay Gratton, Fargo, ND; mother, Doranna Gratton, Walhalla, ND; sisters, Laurel (Allan) Smith, Walhalla, ND and Mary (Manferd) Mostad, Fargo, ND; brother, Dennis (Barbara) Gratton, Walhalla, ND; father and mother-in-law, Arlan and Geneveive Monson, Bottineau, ND; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Pam (Tony) Cirulli, Las Vegas, NV; Mike (Lori) Monson, Culbertson, MT; Larry (Patty) Monson, Jeff (Ann) Monson, Scott Monson, Doug (Sheila) Monson all of Bottineau, ND; Barb (Ted) Meyer, Clear Lake, SD; Mark (Missy) Monson, Hutto, TX; Deb (Tom) Wisla, Addison, IL; Tim (Janell) Monson, Farmington, MN; Susan (Al) Kirchmeier, Phoenix, AZ; Sandy (Rick) Gottbreht, Dunseith, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother-in-law, Jim Monson.
