Monty Heller

Monty L. Heller, 71, Cavalier, ND passed away Friday, September 8, 2017, at his home. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cavalier Baptist Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial will be held in the Cavalier Cemetery.
Monty L. Heller was born February 6, 1946, at Grafton, ND to Milton and Florence (Hanson) Heller. He grew up and attended school at Cavalier, graduating in 1964. Monty then attended Mayville State College, where he received his degree in education. After graduation from Mayville State in 1969, he taught school for three years in Karlstad, MN. In 1972, he purchased the Dairy Queen in Cavalier from his parents He then drove truck for DMS Imaging for 27 years and drove gravel truck for Thorlakson Construction and beet truck for Kiemele Farms.
Things Monty enjoyed were hunting, poker, feeding the birds and birdwatching, he especially enjoyed the outdoors and yard work. Spending time with family and friends was important to him.
On January 20, 1977, he married Roberta Readel at Walhalla, ND. She survives as do his children: Nettie Heller, Fargo, ND, Steve (Germaine) Heller, Cavalier, ND, and Trina, Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Mason and Madison; Torin, Aidan, Rylan, Jameson, Vivienne, Garen, and Gentian.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
