Mildred Romfo

Mildred Romfo, 96, of Langdon, ND, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017, at Cavalier County Memorial Hospital in Langdon.

Mildred Hazel Jore was born April 26, 1921 in Union, ND to Gilbert and Netta (Anderson) Jore. She attended school at Montrose Township in Cavalier County and other country schools. On August 26, 1941, she was united in marriage to Clarence Romfo. The couple made their home and farmed near Vang, ND, until they retired and moved to Langdon in 1984. Clarence passed away on November 2, 2001. Mildred was able to live on her own until 2016 when she moved into Maple Manor Care Center.

Mildred loved to garden- both flowers and vegetables. She was an avid reader and enjoyed embroidery, quilting, and crocheting. She also loved to bake. Above all, she cherished the time she was able to spend with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Mildred was a member of Walhalla Lutheran Church, the ladies aide in Vang, and the Senior Center.

Mildred is survived by her children: Betty Dalzell of Grand Forks, ND, Raymond (Vicki) Romfo of Alexandria, MN , Eileen (Leslie) Welsh of Langdon; daughter-in-law Joyce Romfo of Langdon; grandchildren: Kelly (Mary) Dalzell, Lee Dalzell, Marty (Alicia) Dalzell, Kristy (Kevin) Panico, Jason (Jess) Romfo, Jamie (Lisa) Romfo, Sara McCartney, Thomas Romfo, Jody Feil, Becky Welsh, and Angela (Lonnie) Bartlett; 13 great –grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Thelmar (Belle) Jore and Nora Romfo; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clarence; son Gary; son-in-law Delton Dalzell; grandson Jerry Dalzell; brothers: Oscar, Marvil, Norman, Carl, Gustav, Henry, & Hjalmer; sisters: Olive Holth, Milda Bjornson & an infant sister; sisters-in-law: Anne Jore, Florence Jore, Millie Jore, Clariece Jore, Hazel Jore, and Irene (Otto) Berg; and brothers-in-law: Marvin Holth, Hannas Bjornson, Orvin Romfo, and Harvey (Irene) Romfo.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel in Langdon, ND. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
