Mildred A. Kotchman

January 2, 1918 — December 25, 2010

Mildred Anna Kotchman was born on January 2, 1918, in Backoo, North Dakota to Frank and Elizabeth (Loeser) Pudil. She graduated as valedictorian of Cavalier High School in 1935, and later married Mike Kotchman of Gorham, North Dakota in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on November 23, 1938. In the fall of 1940, they moved to Hallson, North Dakota, where they farmed until 1981.



Mildred continued to live on their farm in rural Cavalier, where she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and sewing. Watching wildlife, mowing the lawn and following the Minnesota Twins were her favorite activities. As a member of the Pembina Hills Evangelical Lutheran Church, she also served in the Hallson Ladies Aide and as a Sunday school superintendent for the Hallson Lutheran Church.



Mildred is survived by her sons: Michael W. "Skip" Kotchman of Cavalier, North Dakota, and Larry (Alice) Kotchman of Bottineau, North Dakota; her three grandchildren, Margaux (Shawn) Lindsay of Cavalier, Brent (Emily) Kotchman of Maple Plain, Minnesota, and Katie Kotchman (Noah Charlap) of Trenton, New Jersey; and two great grandchildren, Meris and Carsen Lindsay of Cavalier; along with numerous nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son and daughter, and husband, Mike, along with her daughter-in-law, Jean Kotchman, and brothers and sisters: Howard Pudil, Mae Crowston, Dorothy Geiger, Donald Pudil, Thelma Crowston, and Leslie (Bud) Pudil.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 28, at 3:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home in Cavalier, ND

Mildred Anna Kotchman passed away on Saturday, December 25, at Pembina County Memorial Hospital in Cavalier at the age of 92. She had resided at Borg Pioneer Memorial Home in Mountain, North Dakota, from June 1, 2010, until her death. Memorials Preferred to Borg Pioneer Retirement Home, Cavalier Ambulance Service, Mountain Quick Response, Mountain Community Center.
