Mildred Duciaume, 88, of Wales, ND passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Cavalier County Memorial Hospital in Langdon, ND.
Mildred Mathilda Meredith was born June 17, 1928 in Killdeer, ND to Col. Celia and Mathilda (Geirser) Meredith. She grew up in the Killdeer area and graduated from Killdeer High School in 1948. Millie married George Duciaume on June 15, 1950 at St. Josephââ¬â¢s Catholic Church in Killdeer. George and Millie lived in many towns in Minnesota and North Dakota due to Georgeââ¬â¢s job working for a power company. In the early 1960s, they moved back to the area and lived on a farm near Langdon before moving to Wales permanently. Millie cooked at the Wales School for many years while she and George raised their seven children. She was lucky enough to continue to live in her own home in Wales until just recently when she became a resident at Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon.
Millie was an excellent cook and loved doing word searches. She was an avid fan of wrestling, and it was known not to call her if that was on TV. Millie also wrote everything down, so if you needed to know when there was a birthday or when something happened or was going to happen- you could count on her to have the information. She was a member of the St. Michaelââ¬â¢s Catholic Church in Wales, ND.
Surviving Millie are her children: Linda (Doug) Heck of Langdon, Dale (Gigi) of Devils Lake, ND, Connie (Robert) Christopherson of Cando, ND, Cindy (Earl) Steinke of Wales, David (Brenda) of Devils Lake, ND, Donnie (Cleo) of Grand Forks, ND, Donna (Marc) Greening of Wales; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law: Earlise Duciaume, Mary Duciaume, and Mildred Duciaume. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, granddaughter Yvette Boutain, and great-grandson Avery.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at St. Michaelââ¬â¢s Catholic Church in Wales, ND. Visitation will take place Monday, February 27, 2017 from 5-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 prayer service at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon.
