Mildred E. Arnold

Mildred E. Arnold, 92, of Cavalier, ND passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Cavalier Presbyterian Church, Cavalier. Visitation will be held one hour before the time of service at the church. Burial will be held in the Hillside Cemetery, Walhalla, ND.
Mildred E. Zieffler, was born on February 10, 1921, to Godfred and Helena (Gerhardt) Zieffler in Hamilton, ND. She grew up in the Hamilton area, graduating from Hamilton High School.
She married Lester Hughes, after their marriage, they resided in Grafton and Backoo, ND. Lester passed away in 1973. On April 22, 1978, Mildred married Rene Arnold at St. Paul, MN. They lived in Champlain, MN and in 1983, moved to Cavalier. She enjoyed gardening, tending flowers, feeding the birds and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Rene; children: Sue (Clair) Longtin, and Patty (Dick) Letexier all of Cavalier; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Hughes, Williams, MN; grandchildren; Marvin (Angela) Longtin, Mike (Candis) Longtin, John (Lisa) Longtin; Rick (Jill) Amundson, Pam Amundson, Cindy (Dave) Oldakowski, Jason (Stacy) Amundson, Patty Amundson; James and Jeremy Hughes, Jeanette (Nate) Wald; 25 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; sister: Donna Aumer in Michigan
Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Jim Hughes; grandsons: Mark and Marty Longtin; four brothers and five sisters.
