Michael D. Muhs, 44, of Langdon, ND, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at his home after battling cancer.

Michael David was born November 26, 1974, in Langdon, ND, to William and Katherine (Fischer) Muhs. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Langdon, graduating in 1993. Mike started Muhs Construction and built homes in the area while farming with his dad. On April 8, 1995, Mike married Cheryl Kram at St. Michael’s Church in Wales. Mike was currently farming and was a salesman for Pioneer Seed. He was a member of the Langdon Hockey Boosters and had been coaching his children’s hockey teams for over seven years. He was also a member of the Wales Volunteer Fire Dept. and the ND Soybean Council, a board member on the Osnabrock Elevator board, and a past board member on the Cavalier County Crop Improvement board. “Magic Mike” was very active in the community, never knew a stranger, and was loved by all who knew him.

Michael is survived by his wife of 23 years, Cheryl, of Langdon; children: Jacob (Kellie Hetler) of Grand Forks, ND, and Andrew, Daniel, and Elizabeth- all of Langdon; parents William and Katherine Muhs of Langdon; sister Jennifer (Damon) Johnson of Park River, ND; brother Brian (Angie) Muhs of Thompson, ND; grandmother Dorothy Muhs; mother-in-law Judy Kram; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Brian (Barb) Kram, Beth (Donald) Grenz, and Curt (Amy) Kram, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Raymond Muhs and Bert & Margaret Fischer; uncles: David Muhs, Tom Fischer, and Ray Fetsch; aunts: Linda Muhs and Pat Fischer; and father-in-law Jacob Kram.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at United Lutheran Church in Langdon, ND. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Monday, February 4, 2019, at the church and for one hour prior to service time at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in the spring at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Wales, ND.

The family asks that memorials be directed to the Wales Volunteer Fire Department or Langdon Hockey Boosters.
