Merald D. Halverson, age 72, of Walhalla, ND died on Monday, July 28,2008, at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at the Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla, ND. Burial in the Oak Park Cemetery, Oklee, MN. Arrangements with Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND.
Merald D. Halverson was born May 31, 1936, at Walhalla, ND to Orten and Velma (Bjornstad) Halverson. He grew up and attended school at Walhalla. He started driving truck for Florian Wendt and later was an over the road driver who traveled in 49 states.
On August 6, 1966, he married MaryAnn Thorson at Bozeman, MT. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Oklee, MN where they farmed for several years.
His enjoyment in life was watching his son's race and friends play pool. Being outdoors and observing wildlife was special to him.
Survivors include his sons Mick (Joyce) Halverson, Grafton, ND, Marvin (Hope) Halverson, Butte, MT, Mark (fiancée, Kristina Herman) Halverson, Walhalla, ND, grandchildren, Denise, Dezirea, Danielle, and Austin, great grandchildren, Isaiah, Amarissa, Josaiah, and Addison, sister, Marlene Arneson, Walhalla, ND, nephew, Jim (Dee) Arneson, Valley City, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughters, Malinda and Margaret.
