Mavis L. Reynolds, age 81, of Cavalier, ND died on Monday, November 30, 2009, at the Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 4, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 3rd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Cavalier Cemetery.
Mavis L. Westensee was born April 28, 1928, in Ramsey County of North Dakota to Herbert and Laura (Johnson) Westensee. She grew up and attended school at Lakota, where she graduated from high school.
On December 27, 1946, she married John Reynolds at Walker, MN. In 1947, they moved to Cavalier. Mavis worked at Patricia's clothing store in Cavalier for several years and also worked as a seamstress out of her home.
She is survived by her children, Bob Reynolds, Rosemont, MN, Duane Reynolds, Cavalier, ND, LuAnn Reynolds, Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Tonya and Boe; four great grandchildren; sister, Doris (Les) Jordan, Dallas, TX; and brother, Warren (Lorraine) Westensee, Lakota, ND.
Preceding Mavis in death were her parents; husband, John on October 2, 2008; brother, Harlan Westensee; and sister, Evelyn Larson.
Clergy: Rev. Beth Peterson.
Casket Bearers: Dave Arvidson, Dalton Larson, Dennis Larson, Bob Reynolds, Duane Reynolds, and Wayne Westensee.
