Mathew David Edwards

Mathew David Edwards, age 59 of Cavalier, ND died on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at Wedgewood Manor in Cavalier.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2006 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Cavalier with the Rev. Adam L. Scheblein officiating. Burial will be in the St. Thomas City Cemetery, St. Thomas, ND.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 20 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home in Cavalier. There will also be visitation for one hour prior to service time at the church on Friday.

Mathew David Edwards, the son of Jesse and Helen (Berg) Edwards, was born on February 11, 1947 at Grafton, ND. He was baptized in St. John's Lutheran Church at St. Thomas, ND. He received his early education at the Ann Carlson Center in Jamestown, and he was also confirmed into the Lutheran faith at Jamestown. Mathew later attended the Michael Dowling School in Minneapolis, MN.

He returned to St. Thomas and continue to reside there for many years, until moving to Bathgate, ND to live at the Pioneer Rest Home. He eventually moved to Cavalier where he had been making his home at Wedgewood Manor.

Mathew was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Cavalier.

Left to cherish his memory are his two sisters: Joella (Tim) Lietz of Hankinson, ND, and Luella (Loren) Paul of Holdingford, MN; his six nieces: Karissa, Penny, Julie, Tammy, Polly, and Dana;
his nephew: Guy; six grandnieces; seven grandnephews; and one great-grandnephew.

Mathew was preceded in death by his parents.
