Mary (Janzen) Wieler was born in Eichenfeld, MB on August 20, 1926 to Margaret (Ens) and Peter J. Janzen. She grew up in a German-speaking home with eight other siblings who helped their parents run the Haskett store. She received an education through the eighth grade at the Haskett school. Mary loved to sing with her sisters and they sang on many occasions.
After a year of sewing school, Mary married Henry Wieler on June 6, 1948. Together they raised a family on a farm, 5 miles southeast of Walhalla, ND. She loved to cook and bake for her family of six children as well as anyone who might come for a visit. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved the Lord Jesus, to whom she had dedicated her life. Mary loved music and encouraged her children and grandchildren to use their talents. She was a member of the 3H homemakers and Maranatha church in Winkler, MB.
In 2006, Mary moved to the North Border Estates in Walhalla after Henry passed away on November 27, 2005. Here she made some very dear friends and hosted a prayer group in her apartment. She loved reading God's Word, playing her piano, crocheting, cross-stitching, and praying for her family and friends.
