Mary Maxine Fiedler Lesar, 66, of Virginia, MN and formerly of Cavalier, ND, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014 in Duluth, MN. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cavalier Presbyterian Church, Cavalier. Visitation at the church one hour before time of services.
Maxine was born November 5, 1947 to H. Jackson and Vivian M. Fiedler in Grafton, ND. She grew up in Cavalier and graduated from Cavalier High School in 1965 and North Dakota State University in 1969. She taught home economics and special education in the Virginia, MN schools for 20 years.
In 1988, Maxine married William Lesar and they lived in Virginia with their son Jackson F. Lesar.
Maxine was a devoted wife, mother and care taker, taking care of her parents in their later years. She was very active in her son's youth activities and loved all animals, in particular, a springer spaniel named Jack. Also very important to her were the lifelong friends she had from childhood, as well as the many she made after moving to Virginia.
She was a member of Hope Community Presbyterian Church in Virginia and participated in many church activities.
Survivors include her husband, son and numerous cousins and their families.
Preceding her in death were her father in 1986 and mother in 2012.
