Mary T. Greenwood

Mary T. Greenwood, 88, of Cavalier, ND passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013, at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Cavalier Presbyterian Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial will be held in the Cavalier Cemetery.
Mary was born June 28, 1925, at Fairdale, ND, to Carl Andrew and Marie Julia (Christianson) Teie. She grew up in Hatton, ND, where she graduated from high school, and later worked in a café in Grand Forks, ND.
On February 13, 1947, she married Lester "Scotty" Greenwood at Hatton. After their marriage they lived in Backoo, ND. While in Backoo she was the Postmaster for 30 years and later worked at the Wedgewood Manor. Scotty passed away on August 19, 1986. Mary enjoyed family time, cooking, sewing, and reading.
Survivors include her children: Jerry (Carol) Greenwood, Backoo, David (Anna) Greenwood, Pueblo, CO, Trudy (Randy) Robinson, Hensel, ND, and Malcolm Greenwood, Backoo; grandchildren: Yvonne (Jeremy) Denault, Eric (Kaley) Greenwood, Melanie Greenwood; Jason (Janna) Greenwood, Aaron Greenwood, Rachel (Rob) Zoorob; Christy (Jason) Jelinek, Michelle (Shane) Sagert; Mitchell Greenwood, Alicia Greenwood; great grandchildren: Ciera, Natalie, Jazmine; Megan, Madison, Kaylee; Tyson, Ashlyn, Alex, MacKenzie, Jadyn; sisters: Jean (Stan) Smestad, Hatton, ND, Cynthia (David) Soliah, Williams, MN; brother, Arlan Teie, in Oregon.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, and brothers: Donald and Carl Teie.
