Marlyss Byron

Marlyss D. Byron, 77, of Mountain, ND passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 12, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Vikur Lutheran Church, Mountain, ND. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 11th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Burial will be held in the Mountain Cemetery.
Marlyss was born December 13, 1937, at Walhalla, ND to Ingvar and Sylvia (Holm) Benjaminson. She grew at Mountain, ND and graduated from Mountain High School. On August 17,1957, she married Rodney Byron at Mountain, ND. Marlyss was an active member of the Bjornson-Sigfusson American Legion Auxiliary and also a member of Vikur Lutheran Church. Things she enjoyed were spending time with her grandchildren, entertaining family, cooking, canning, and gardening. For the past several years she has resided at Wedgewood Manor in Cavalier, ND.
She is survived by her husband, Rodney; children: Bradley (Barbara) Byron, Minneapolis, MN, Brenda Tesmer (Jerome Wilhowsky), Mountain, ND, Bridgett (Jon) Fast, Warroad, MN; grandchildren: Brittany and Brady; Amanda, Rebbeca, and Jason; Rocky, Benjamin, and Stephanie; seven great-grandchildren; siblings: Vern Benjaminson (Linda Letexier), Cavalier, ND and Lynda (Sven) Mickels, Portland,ND, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents and sister, Carol Indridason.
