Marlys A. Kippen, 74, of Cavalier, ND passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Funeral service will be held Monday, October 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cavalier Presbyterian Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial will be held in the Hamilton Cemetery, Hamilton, ND.
Marlys Ann Kapp was born October 4, 1944 at Tappen, ND to Andrew and Kathryn (Lang) Kapp. She graduated from Tappen High School as valedictorian of her class. Marlys then attended Valley City State College. She moved to Cavalier where she met and married Robert D. Kippen on March 12, 1966 at the Cavalier Presbyterian Church. They farmed and lived in the Hamilton area and later moved to Cavalier.
Things Marlys enjoyed were spending time and entertaining her family and friends. Travelling to visit family and friends. Sewing, quilting, cooking, and baking were a few of her talents. She most enjoyed sharing the creations of her talents with her loved ones and friends. She was an avid doll enthusiast and took it up as a vocation for a time.
She is survived by her children: Kari (Steve) Files, Minot, ND, Robert A. (Stacy) Kippen, West Fargo, ND, Jon A. Kippen, Cavalier, ND, Mary C. (Todd) Kippen-Morgan, Grafton, ND; grandchildren: Landon Lemieux, Austin (Harley) and Caitlyn Skari, Duncan Kippen, Boden and Eliza Morgan; great-grandchildren: Chase, Rylie, and Aurora Skari. Also surviving her are her siblings: Beverly Motl, Betty (Curt) Ghylin, Gloria (Reuben) Morlock, and Cathy (Phil) Lohman.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Robert D. and sister, Shirley Kapp.
