MARK A. HARTJE
Mark A. Hartje, age 51 of Cavalier, ND, died on Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital in Cavalier.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2008 at United Lutheran Church in Cavalier. Burial will be in the Cavalier City Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 9 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at United Lutheran Church. There will also be visitation for one hour prior to service time on Monday.
Mark Alan Hartje, the son of Ardell and Meta (Stark) Hartje, was born on November 7, 1956 at Grafton, North Dakota. He was raised in Cavalier and received his education there, graduating with the Class of 1975. Mark went on to college at North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton and graduated with a degree in air conditioning and refrigeration.
He was united in marriage to Gwen Korynta on November 24, 1979 in Cavalier, and to this union two children were born.
Mark was employed originally in Walhalla at various places, working in the fertilizer industry. He later went to work in Cavalier for Aaland and Robbins where he was currently employed. His free time was spent as an avid hunter and golfer.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife: Gwen Hartje of Cavalier, ND; his son Chad Hartje and his daughter Nancy Hartje, both of Grand Forks, ND; his parents: Ardell and Meta Hartje of Cavalier, ND; his siblings: Marlene (Clarence) Boettger of Hamilton, ND, Judy (Carlton) Ill of Cavalier, ND, Joanne (Rodger) Rasmussen of Crystal, ND, Gary (Karin) Hartje of Sioux Falls, SD, Dennis Hartje and Scott Hartje, both of Cavalier, ND; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents.
