Marjorie L. Foxen, 90, of Neche, ND passed peacefully on October 7, 2009, at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND, with her family at her side.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 12, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 11th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier. Burial in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Neche.
Marjorie Louise was born January 11, 1919, in Tower City, ND to George and Delia (Bordeleau) Stevens. She graduated from Tower City High School in 1936.
On April 10, 1937, she married Arthur H. Hotten. They resided and operated various businesses in Langdon and Walhalla, ND. They had five children, Judith (Gary) Spangelo, Cheney, WA, Steven "Butch" (Gloria) Hotten, Walhalla, Terrance (Evelyn) Hotten Georgetown, TX, Linda Letexier (Vern Benjaminson), Cavalier, and Brent (Cookie) Hotten, Neche.
At age 46, she went to nursing school in Wahpeton, graduating as an LPN. She then worked for 14 years at the Pembilier Nursing Center in Walhalla.
She married John S. Foxen on June 28, 1968 at Walhalla. They farmed and operated the Western Bar in Neche for several years.
For the past 30 years, she has enjoyed doing her crafts, feeding her birds and tending to her flower gardens at the farm, taking her summer fishing trips to Thompson, Manitoba, and spending her winters at her home in Harlingen, Texas. The past five years, she has also enjoyed operating her little "La Casa" store at the farm. She was a lifelong member of the Degree of Honor, American Legion Auxiliary, and an avid sponsor of the American Cancer Society.
Survivors include her five children, 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, John on October 4, 2003, brother, Allen Stevens and sister, Isabelle Daily.

Casket Bearers: Jason Best, Russell Carignan, Ryan Held, Greg Lafferty, Curtis LaPorte, and Kelly McLeod.
Music: Connie Eagan, Soloist and Bernadine Kopf, Organist
