Marilyn Helt, 73, of Hannah, North Dakota passed away while surrounded by family, Monday, October 27, 2008, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Marilyn Fay (Miller) Helt was born February 20, 1935 in Langdon, ND the daughter of Leon and Roberta (Prior) Miller. She was raised and graduated from Hannah High School in 1953. She graduated from the Sisters of St. Josephââ¬â¢s School of Nursing in 1956. On June 25, 1959 she was united in marriage to Virgil Helt from Lankin, ND. She cared for numerous patients as a registered nurse in Fargo, Park River and Langdon, ND hospitals. Marilyn was a member of the Hannah Presbyterian Church and had been serving as the churchââ¬â¢s treasurer. Marilyn and Virgil enjoyed leisurely traveling, visiting many states, including a cross-Canada camping/road trip to destination- Alaska. Marilyn enjoyed sewing, puzzles, reading, and gardening. She also enjoyed spending time at the lake, fishing and camping. Any spare time was committed to parts running and bookkeeping for Virgilââ¬â¢s business- Heltââ¬â¢s Garage. She retired from her nursing career in 1997 in order to spend precious time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her husband Virgil; three daughters- Susan (Neil) Rundquist, Thompson, ND, Lori Helt, Valley City, ND, and Bonnie (Shawn) Howatt, Starkweather, ND; five grandchildren- Nathan Rundquist, Kaylee Rundquist, Heather Howatt, Adam Howatt, and Mandy Howatt; sister- Betty (Rev. James) Wilson, Benton, AR; brother- Tom (Marlene) Miller, Langdon, ND; brother-in-law- Don Zingleman, Watford City, ND; brother-in-law- Dennis (Pat) Helt; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers- Laurel Miller and Delwyn Miller; and sisters- Leona Miller, Melva Zingleman, and Earlene Miller. VISITATION will begin at 6pm Thursday with a 7:30pm Prayer Service all at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND. Visitation will also take place for one hour before the time of the services at the church on Friday.
SERVICES will take place Friday, October 31, 2008 at 10:30am at the United Methodist Church of Langdon, ND.
INTERMENT will take place at the Hannah Cemetery, Hannah, ND
