Marie Gratton

Marie Gratton, 91, of Devils Lake, ND, and formerly of Langdon, ND, passed away September 16, 2013, at the Heartland Care Center of Devils Lake, ND.



Marie was born January 9, 1922, at home near Wales to George and Agatha (Koehmstedt) Riedhammer. She was raised in the Wales/Mt. Carmel area. Marie was united in marriage to Arthur Gratton on October 5, 1942, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon. Marie and Arthur farmed northeast of Langdon. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church where she was active in the Catholic Daughters and the Altar Society.



Marie is survived by her children: Kenneth (Margaret) Gratton of Devils Lake, ND, Aldena Woolridge of Sedalia, Missouri, Claudette (Louie) Franchuk of Dickinson, ND, Vincent Gratton of Devils Lake, ND, Julie Gratton of Devils Lake, ND; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers: Frances (Irene) Riedhammer of Langdon, ND and Tony (Arlene) Riedhammer of Grand Forks, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter Joan Olson, grandsons Troy Gratton and Shawn Franchuk, two sisters and two brothers.



Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 19, 2013, beginning at 5pm, with a 7pm prayer service at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND. Visitation will also take place for one hour before the time of the services at the church on Friday.



Services: Friday, September 20, 2013, at 4pm, at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND.



Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Langdon, ND.
