Marie Dahl age 81 of Cavalier, ND died on Sunday, May 3, 2009, at the Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 7, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Brigid of Ireland Catholic Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation on Wednesday, May 6th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the St. Brigid's Catholic Cemetery.
Marie Schwartz was born February 22, 1928, at Maida, ND to Bill and Agnes (Hoffarth)
Schwartz. She grew up in the Langdon area.
On May 20, 1946, she married James Kalis at Leroy, ND, They had two children, Gary and Kathy. James passed away on December 23, 1972. Then on June 29, 1973, she married Otto Dahl. Otto passed away on March 13, 1991.
She cleaned homes for many years, was a homemaker, and loved tending her flowers.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Dalsted (special friend, Gordon Hornbaker), Cavalier, grandchildren, Chad Dalsted and Shane (Kristi) Dalsted, all of Cavalier, Theresa (Tom) Polkinghorne, Emerado, ND, Terry (Roxie) Kalis and Timmy (Raela) Kalis, Tommy Kalis all of Walhalla, ND, Trevor (Ericka) Kalis, Grand Forks, ND, Tina (Eric) Radway, Walhalla, ND, great grandchildren, Reed and Samantha Radway, Jimmy Kalis Kartes, Chalo and Mandy Polkinghorne, Christian and Ayden Dalsted, siblings, Jerry (Darlene) Schwartz, Cudhay, WI, Pat (John) Loverick, Wind Lake, WI, Lyle (Nancy) Schwartz, Muskego, WI, Dorothy (John) Kram, Waterford, WI, Jan (Joe) Eder, Lake Villa, IL.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, son, Gary Kalis, brothers, Harold, Gilbert, and Ronnie, and sisters, Betty and Bernice.
