Marguerite Hardy age 90 of Walhalla, ND died on Saturday, November 22, 2008, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 24th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the church. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the St. Boniface Cemetery. Arrangements with Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND.
Evelyn Marguerite was born January 23, 1918, at Walhalla, ND to Robert and Eva (McNamara) Fitzsimonds. She grew up in the Leroy area and graduated from St. James Academy in Grand Forks, ND. Following graduation she attended St. John's School of Nursing in Fargo, ND
In 1942,she married James Munns, and he died in January of 1943. She then married Warren Hardy on November 7, 1946. They lived in Walhalla their entire lives, where they were business owners. Warren died on April 30, 1975.
She was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church and Altar Society, and the Walhalla American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her children, Peggy (Dick) Steffen, Anoka, MN, Patricia (Dale) Reck, Neche, ND., Rob (Terri) Hardy, Carefree, AZ, Pat (Laurie) Hardy, Barb (Dennis) Gratton, all of Walhalla, Maureen (Rob) Bussoletti, Scottsdale, AZ, son-in-law, Randy Stites, Valley City, ND, 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, brother, Vernon (Kathleen) Fitzsimonds, Walhalla, ND.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, daughter, Sharon Stites, grandson, Timothy, and brother, Francis.
Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Thomas Krupich.
Honorary Pallbearers: All of Marguerite's Grandchildren.
Casket Bearers: Corey Dalzell, Robert Fitzsimonds, Nick Gratton, Brian Mathison, Scott Reck, and Jim Steffen.
Music: LaRae Horgan, Soloist and Bernadine Kopf, Organist.
