Margret A. Rueger

Margret Rueger, 75, of Langdon, ND passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Cavalier County Memorial Hospital in Langdon, ND.

Margret Ann Asmundson was born May 5, 1941 in Grafton, ND to Magnus “Mike” and Anna (Davidson) Asmundson. She attended school and graduated from Milton and then continued her education at Aaker’s Business College in Fargo, ND. She worked at UND and then returned to Langdon and worked as a secretary at REA. Margret and Duane Rueger were married on November 8, 1963 at Vikar Lutheran Church in Mountain, ND, and renewed their vows at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on March 25, 1988. They farmed near Langdon and also did some custom combining for many years.

Margret loved to read, do crosswords and was a talented seamstress. She also loved going to movies which started when she worked concessions at the Little Star Theatre in Milton when she was younger. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, animals, collecting dolls and watching “Dancing with the Stars”. Above all, she loved her family, and they were all very important to her. Margret was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and their altar society.

Surviving Margret are her children: Dean (Kathy) Rueger of Langdon, RoxAnne Williford of Phoenix, AZ, Linda (Doug) Milligan of WA, Connie Rueger of OR, Michael Rueger of WA; grandchildren: Brennen, Rylan, LaShell, Jamie, David, Mary Beth, Angela, Vanessa, Jason; many great-grandchildren; siblings: Rodger Asmundson of Park River, ND, Harland Asmundson of CA, Sharon Lindsley of Mandon, ND; nieces Jessica Lindsley Casavant and Shari Smolindsley; and nephews Jack Lindsley and Jerry Lindsley. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Duane, granddaughter KateLynn Rueger, infant brother Kenneth, sister-in-law Sylvia Asmundson, and brother-in-law Jack Lindsley.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2016 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon with visitation starting one hour prior to service time at the church. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Langdon, ND.
