Margaret Morken

Margaret Morken, 92, formerly of Osnabrock, passed away January 31, 2007 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND.

Margaret Gunnarson was born in Pembina County January 29, 1915 to Gunnar and Gudrun Gunnarson. She graduated from high school at the Park River A.C. and attended Valley City State College and went on to teach in several country schools. She was united in marriage to Ralph N. Morken in September of 1944. They lived on the family farm until 1958 when Ralph established Ralph’s Bar. Margaret later taught at Olga, Mountain, Milton and Osnabrock for a total of 27 years. Margaret also worked part time at the Good Samaritan Center of Osnabrock, was a member of the Dovre Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and was active in the ALCW. Margaret was a member of the Osnabrock American Legion, the Good Samaritan Volunteer Club and served a term as President of the Northeast District Retired Teachers Association.

She is survived by her daughter Ella Rae Boehm of Grand Forks, grandsons; Christopher Boehm of Grand Forks and Jonathan (Michelle) Boehm of Osnabrock, great-grandchildren; Kaylyn and Jacob Boehm of Grand Forks and Jorden and Landen Boehm of Osnabrock, ND.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph and her parents, three brothers, four sisters and an infant sister.

SERVICES Saturday February 3, 2007 at 1:00pm at the Dovre Lutheran Church of Osnabrock, ND.
