Margaret R. Long, 81, of Langdon, ND passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at the Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Lutheran Church, Langdon, ND. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial will be held in the Harvey Centre Cemetery, rural Langdon. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Osnabrock Living Care Center, Osnabrock, ND.
Margaret Mowbray was born September 20, 1937, near Wales, ND, to Wesley and Aletha (Pettis) Mowbray. She grew up in Wales and was one of eight students to graduate from her high school in Wales, ND. After school she worked at the bakery in Langdon.
On April 9, 1960, she married Donald E. Long at Langdon, ND. Most of their married life they lived in the Langdon area. She worked at the Wagon Wheel Motel, Durum Diner, and the Country Inn. Things she enjoyed were baking, sewing, reading, and playing games.
She is survived by her children: Donna (Richard) Bartlow of Henderson, MN, Patty (Joe) Gravelle of Elk Mound, WI, Dale (Pamela) Long of Devils Lake, ND, Ivan (DeLinda) Long of Minto, ND, Lyle (Deidre) Long of Langdon, ND, Ally Bennett-Dumas (Robert ââ¬ÅTorkââ¬Å¥) of Walhalla, ND; grandchildren: Victor and Josie Long, Nicole, Sera and Casey Bennett and Waylon Dumas, Jessi Gravelle, Ashley Doerr, and great-grandchildren: Rosa, Evan, Bentley, and Athena.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Donald, and son Leon.
Margaret was kind-spirited, gentle-mannered, and compassionate to others. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
