Marcia Loy Tesmer

**Update** - Funeral services for Marcia Tesmer will be rescheduled for Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Walhalla Lutheran Church in Walhalla.

Our Mom, Marcia Loy Louise (Wilson) Tesmer passed away on Wednesday, February 28th at the Pembilier Nursing Center in Walhalla, ND. Mom was born March 15th, 1933 in Bagley, MN. Her parents, Lloyd and Elizabeth (Bogart) Wilson moved to Walhalla, ND. On July 15, 1950, Mom married Elmer Tesmer at Sharon Lutheran Church, Grand Forks, ND.
Mom loved to read, but raising 5 children, along with making wedding cakes, lefse for family and church lutefisk suppers, and fishing kept her from her reading until later in life. Mom also bowled, golfed and at times worked in Walhalla's Ben Franklin with her Mom. She was also a driver and EMT for the Walhalla Ambulance Service. She drove school bus for the Walhalla Public School. During harvest, she drove combine and truck for Dad, truck for potato farmers and later tried her skills in the beet truck. Mom's CB handle was the "Happy Traveler". Her love of driving and cookie dough blizzards enabled her to memorize every Dairy Queen between Walhalla and Mesa, AZ. Mom and Dad were Snowbirds for 32 years. In 1992, they purchased a park model home in Mesa Regal RV Park but continued to use their Jamboree camper for fishing and shorter trips.
Mom is survived by her five children: Dale Tesmer, Pueblo, Colorado; Sherry (Dutch) Fleming, Hamilton, ND; Carol (Brad) Seger, Port Orchard, WA; Dean (Brenda) Tesmer, De Forest, WI; Ellen (Mitch) Syverson, Fargo, ND. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Rae (Gerald) Thompson, Mesa, AZ, grandchildren: Bobbi Jo, Kristi, Jennifer, Nicole, Samantha, Travis, Cassie, James, Joshua and Adam and 8 great grandchildren.
Our Mom was preceded in death her husband, Elmer; her parents and sister, Betty Jean Wilson.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 5, at 10:30 a.m. at the Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial will be held in the Hillside Cemetery, Walhalla, ND.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Pembilier Nursing Center or the Walhalla Ambulance Service.
