Marcella E. Howell, 90, of Leroy, ND, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017, at her home in Leroy. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 28, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 27th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service at the church.
Marcella Eloise Braget was born in rural Walhalla to Conrad and Rosalba (Morin) Braget on October 21, 1926. She grew up west of Walhalla and attended Fremont Township School.
Her most important job of life was being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother which was done impeccably and effortlessly. Marcella also provided a daycare out of her home, and provided many with her seamstress skills.
Some of the things she enjoyed included: gardening, canning, freezing, and crocheting. Her enjoyment was winning rummy and pool games with all her grandchildren. She had an avid love for fishing and deer hunting with Joe.
Survivors include her children: Galen (Margaret) Howell, Leroy; Marcia (Ronald) Mack, East Grand Forks, MN; Donna (Bruce) Thom, Neche, ND; and Larry (Angela) Howell, Emerado, ND; grandchildren: Jan (Tom) Dick, Mary Howell, Becky Howell (Levi Gubbels), Ryan (Natalie) Mack, Chris (Ashley) Mack, Mindy (Scott) Woidtke, Tony Thom, Amy (Adam) Wilkens, Matthew Thom (Kendra Smith), Laurie Struxness; 10 great-grandchildren: Audrey, Josie, Lydia, Kate, Landon, Colter, Brynn, Oliver, Xander, and Hendrix.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Joe; parents; five brothers: Wallace, Charles (Tommy), Delorne, Donald and Robert.
