Marcella E. Blaisdell age 84 of Grand Forks, ND, formerly of Walhalla. ND
died Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at Woodside Village, Heartland Unit, Grand Forks, ND.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Park Center-Walhalla Presbyterian Church ,Walhalla ND. Burial at the Walhalla Hillside Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 1 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 pm. Eastern Star and prayer service at the Park Center-Walhalla Presbyterian Church. Visitation at church for one hour before services. Arrangements with Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND.
Marcella E. Williams was born December 19, 1922, in the south Walhalla area to Alva and Matilda (Denny) Williams. She attended school there and graduated from Walhalla High School.
On March 31, 1940, she married Archie Lyle Blaisdell at Walhalla. They farmed in the Walhalla area before moving to Grand Forks. While in Grand Forks, she worked at Valley Dairy Stores and Dale's Jewelry. She also ran a daycare in her home. They returned to Walhalla before moving to Drayton in 1998. Lyle passed away on September 2, 2000.
Marcella was a member of the Presbyterian Church, served on the session, UPW chairperson, and several church committees. She was also past president of the Pemibilier Nursing Center Auxiliary and secretary of the Pembina County "Council on Aging".
She is survived by sons, Lyle D. Blaisdell, Grand Forks, ND; Keith A. (Linda) Blaisdell, Burnsville, MN; Everette W. Blaisdell, Grand Forks, ND; Mark W. Blaisdell, Bemidji, MN; grandchildren, Tami (Karl) Jones, Jared (Kimberly) Blaisdell, Jeremy W. Blaisdell, and Sheila (David) Landberg; sisters, Bernice Lee and Alva Jean Nordby; and brother, Bill (Adeline) Williams.
Marcella was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Amos, Paul, and Lawrence; sisters, Martha Sigurdson, Florence Fraser, Christine Phillips, and infant sister, Beatrice.
Clergy: Rev. Judy Moos.
Casket Bearers: Jared Blaisdell, Jeremy Blaisdell, David Landberg, Joe Phillips, Daryl Thompson, and Jerry Williams.
