Lyle D. Waters, Jr., age 50 of Walhalla, ND died on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 3, 2007, at 10:30 am at the Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation on Thursday, August 2nd from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the church. Burial in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Walhalla, ND. Arrangements with Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND.
Lyle Delmont Waters was born January 6, 1957, at Montevideo, MN to Lyle and Elaine (Hanson) Waters. He grew up there and graduated from Montevideo Senior High School in 1975. Lyle then attended Granite Falls Area Vocational Technical Institute graduating with a degree in Industrial Electronics Technology. While attending school he started working at Olin, a flax straw processing company. In 1979, he moved to Walhalla continuing to work for Olin, which later became Ecusta, until 1995. Lyle was then employed by Motor Coach Industries in Pembina, and continued working there until the time of his death. When Lyle wasn't working he enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing video games, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by sons, Justin Waters; Brent Waters and special friend April Benoit, all of Grand Forks, ND; father, Lyle Waters, Sr., Langdon, ND; brothers, Lance (Joanie) Waters, Walhalla, ND; Lyndon (Carol) Waters, Watertown, SD; Lonnie (Tami) Waters, Watertown, SD; Lee (Candice) Waters, Grand Forks, ND; sisters, Lori (Darrold) Schweitzer, Freeman, SD; Lisa Feil (David Hoffarth), Langdon, ND; Lana Waters, Fargo, ND; mother-in-law, Jeannette Lafferty, Grand Forks, ND; 16 nieces and nephews; 12 great nieces and nephews; seven aunts, and two uncles.
Lyle was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine Waters; maternal and paternal grandparents; and his father-in-law, Larry Lafferty.
Clergy: Rev. Adrian Olson.
Casket Bearers: Larry Lafferty, Jr., Bob Shablow, Byron Shablow, Lance Waters, Lee Waters, and Lonnie Waters.
