Lyle Howatt, 89, of Langdon, ND passed away on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Maple Manor Care Center of Langdon, ND.
Lyle was born September 21, 1922 to Orlo and Thelma (Witzel) Howatt. He attended rural school near Maida and lived near Maida all of his life other than when he was in the CC Camp and the US Navy from 1944-1946. Lyle met Genevieve Mayer at a dance, and they were married on June 10, 1954 near Lankin, ND. Lyle and Gen made their home on the Howatt farm before establishing their own in the Maida area. They raised grain and had purebred Charolais cattle. Gen passed away in April of 2008. Lyleââ¬â¢s biggest joy was raising his cattle. Lyle was a member of the Maida Methodist Church.
Lyle is survived by his children: Cathy (Terry) Metzger of Valley City, ND, Dean of Anchorage, AK, Dennis of Langdon, ND, Joan (Todd) Nowek of Edina, MN; grandchildren: Shannon (Kelly) Metzger, William (Cami) Metzger, Erika (Ben) Parker; 7 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Stewart (Betty) Howatt, Shirley Greene, Marjorie Sturlaugson, Fay Lorenz, Mary (Tony) Sperling, and Gertie (Lorne) Field.
VISITATION will be on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from 5-7:00 at Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.
SERVICES will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Maple Manor Care Center Chapel in Langdon, ND.
