Luverne Tesmer

Luverne Tesmer, 82, of Walhalla, ND passed away Friday, September 14, 2012, at the Pemibiler Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held Monday, September 17th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla. Burial in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.
Luverne was born May 28, 1930, at Walhalla to Carl and Edna (Burt) Tesmer. He grew up in the Walhalla area, where he attended school. From 1952 to 1954, he served in the U.S. Army.
On October 22, 1954, he married Catherine A. Siguaw at Olga, ND. After their marriage they farmed in the Walhalla area. He drove bus for the Walhalla Public School from 1969 to 2010. Catherine passed away on July 9, 2009.
Survivors include his children: Garth Tesmer, Olga and Danielle (Stephen) Andresen, Langdon, ND; grandchildren: Amanda LaPorte, Rebbeca Tesmer, Jason Tesmer, Benjamin Tesmer, Rocky Tesmer, and Isabella Andresen; great grandchildren: Austin, Thomas, Dominick, and Zoey Tesmer.
Also preceding him in death were his parents; son, Garnet; daughter, Kimberly; and sister, Luella Tully.
Celebrant: Rev. Jude Okafor.
Casket Bearers: Patrick Dunnigan, Randy Heck, Richard Heck, Scott Heck, John Knutson, and Robert Pitcher.
