Lucille Olson Readel

Lucille Olson Readel, 92, of Cavalier, ND passed away Monday, November 12, 2012, at the Wedgwood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 16, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Brigid of Ireland Catholic Church, Cavalier. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 15th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial will be held in the St. Brigid of Ireland Cemetery, Cavalier.
Lucille was born July 28, 1920, at Joliette, ND to James and Belle (Defoe) Pariseau. She grew up in the Joliette area and graduated from St. James High School in Grand Forks, ND.
On January 29, 1941, she married Robert Olson at Cavalier. He passed away in September of 1977. Lucille worked as a seamstress at Liza's Dress Shop in Cavalier, and as a postal clerk at the Cavalier Post Office for 26 years until her retirement in December of 1982. She married Robert Readel on April 15, 1982, at Cavalier. He passed on March 18, 2008.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a local homemakers club. Lucille enjoyed ceramics, knitting, crocheting, reading, and playing golf.
Survivors include her children: Robert (Irene) Olson, Jamestown, ND, William (Penny) Olson, Grand Forks, Judy (Gary) Kemnitz, Cavalier; seven grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; step-children: Rosman "Butch" (Myrna) Readel, Mountain, ND, Roberta (Monty) Heller, Cavalier, Monica Heigaard, Mountain, Peter (Pat) Readel, West Fargo, ND, and Perry (Linda) Readel, Mountain; several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters: Pat (Allen) Nordstrom, Bathgate, ND and Betty (Vince) Brown, San Franciso, CA.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; sisters: Doris Stansill, Tess Nicole, and Voni Miron; and brothers: James and Robert Pariseau.
Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Robert Pecotte.
Music: Rene Cashin, Canton and Larry Collins, Organist.
Casket Bearers: Tarek Howard, Brent Olson, Darren Olson, Trent Olson, Troy Olson, Jay Trottier, and Darwin Trottier.
