Lucille A. Meece age 86 of Cavalier, ND died on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at the Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 31, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Brigid of Ireland Catholic Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Friday, January 30th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Burial in the St. Brigid's Catholic Cemetery, Cavalier.
Lucille A. McArthur was born July 2, 1922, at Cavalier, ND to Lem and Kathleen (McGurran) McArthur. She grew up in Cavalier where she attended school and graduated from high school.
In 1941, she married Martin Lorenzen. They lived in Cavalier and Lucille worked as a nurses aide at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital for several years. Martin died April 17, 1967. She then married Stacy Meece on January 6, 1981 at Cavalier, he passed away March 20, 2006.
She was active in the church Altar Society and enjoyed crocheting and gardening.
Survived by her children, Tom (Margaret) Lorenzen, Gurnee, Il, Richard Lorenzen, Kennwick, WA, Patty (Gary) Dearinger, Walhalla, ND, Carol Lorenzen, Kennewick, WA, nine grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, stepchildren, Randy (Cindy) Meece, Cavalier, ND, Valerie and Mary Lee Meece both of Nashville, TN, brother, Robert (Alene) McArthur, Mt. Pleasant, SC.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, daughter, Kathy Lorenzen Johnson, siblings, Don McArthur and Dorothy Ault.
