Louise O. Shafer age 83 of Hallock, MN died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at the Kittson County Memorial Nursing Home, Hallock, MN. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Hallock, MN. Visitation will be held Monday, April 13th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Hallock. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Cavalier Cemetery, Cavalier, ND.
Louise O. Lang was born October 20, 1925, at Lancaster, MN to George and Madeline (Emerson) Lang. She grew up and attended school in the Lancaster area.
On October 25, 1942, she married Robert Shafer at Hallock, MN. After their marriage they farmed in the Lancaster area. In 1963, they moved to Hallock. Robert Shafer passed away on July 22, 1997. In April of 1997, she became a resident of the Kittson Co. Memorial Nursing Home.
She is survived by her sons, Leroy "Roy" (Cheryl) Shafer, Osakis, MN and Robert (Karen) Shafer, Leonard, MN, daughter-in-law, Donna Shafer, Hallock, MN, 10 grandchilren, 24 great grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, son, James Shafer, and four brothers.
