Louis A. Weiss

Louis A. Weiss, 89, of Thompson, ND formerly of Neche, ND died Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 15, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Neche.
Louis was born April 23, 1921, to August and Ida (Fisher) Weiss at Neche, ND. He grew up in the Neche area, where he attended country school. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army in the African and European Theatres. After his discharge from the service he farmed in the Neche area and also worked at Motor Coach Industries in Pembina.
On April 23, 1948, he married Annie N. Sagert at Christ Lutheran Church in Neche. In 2002, they moved from Neche to Thompson.
Survivors include his wife, Annie; daughter, LuAnn (Tim) Kysilka, Thompson, ND; grandchildren, Michon, Maggie, and Mikayla Kysilka; sisters, Wilhelmina Robinson and Bernice Latozke, both of Seattle, WA.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Henry and Walter Weiss; sisters, Tillie Weiss and Helena Langton.
Clergy: Rev. Beth Peterson.
Music: Curtis Stegman, Soloist and Bettie Lou Stegman, Organist.
Military Rites: Lavern J. Thompson Post #11, Cavalier American Legion
