Lorraine McConnell

Lorraine F. McConnell, 100, Cavalier, ND passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 9, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cavalier Presbyterian Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 8th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service and Order of Eastern Star service at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND.
Lorraine F. Hillis was born September 24, 1916 at Backoo, ND to Brinton and Nora (Foxen) Hillis. She grew up and attended school in the Backoo area. Lorraine graduated from high school at Park River, ND.
On September 21, 1938, she married Frank McConnell at Backoo, ND. After their marriage, they farmed in the Backoo area. In 1976, they moved into Cavalier. They enjoyed traveling, cruises, and wintered in Texas and Florida. Lorraine was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was active in the church choir, ladies aide, and also was church organist and pianist. Her other interests included sewing, needle work, and painting.
She is survived by her children: Bob (Delores) McConnell, Bismarck, ND, Harold McConnell, Backoo, ND, James (Betty) McConnell, Yamhill, OR; grandchildren: Cheryl Kuchynski, Jeff McConnell, Lisa Neu; Loren McConnell, Mark McConnell; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Frank on August 12, 1985; brother, Jack Hillis.
