Lorene Dahl

Lorene Dahl, 92, of Osnabrock, ND passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Unity Medical Center in Grafton, ND.

Lorene was born, April 27, 1923 to Gust and Ella (Tollefson) Johnson in Hay Township. She grew up and attended school in the Osnabrock area. Lorene and Euphram Dahl were united in marriage on November 16, 1941. After Euphram was discharged from the US Navy, they lived in Grand Forks, ND then moved to Osnabrock where they raised their family. Lorene lived at Parkwood Place in Grand Forks from 2009 until April of this year when she moved to Lutheran Sunset Home in Grafton, ND.

Lorene worked at home and also helped her husband on the farm. She loved to sew, quilt and bake. She would bake something, have a piece, and share the rest! Lorene enjoyed attending the annual Hallinglag of America stevne and went to the Norsk Hostfest for over 30 years. She was a member of Sons of Norway, NARFE, and was a charter member of Happy Hour Homemakers. Lorene was also a member of Dovre Lutheran Church and an officer and member of WELCA.

Surviving Lorene are her children: Darryl (Bev) Dahl of Osnabrock, ND and Lynnell (Keith) Rourke of Roseau, MN; grandchildren: Kari (Chris) Gratton, Brian (Peggy) Dahl, Traci (Nathan) Olsonawski, Todd Rourke, and Kristin (Jay) Hodny; great-grandchildren: Karisa, Marc, Caden, Colten, Caven, Wyatt, Hayden, Saydi, Riley, Derek, Cole, Tal, Jax, Declan, and Briggs; siblings: Doris Magnusson and Harland (Grace) Johnson; sister-in-law Cheryl Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, husband Euphram, son Rodney, siblings Isabel Rittmiller and Kenneth Johnson, and brothers-in-law Elmer Rittmiller and Marvin Magnusson.

Services will be held Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Dovre Lutheran Church in Osnabrock, ND with visitation starting one hour prior to service time.
Interment – Union Cemetery, Osnabrock, ND
