Lois Rollefstad, 87, of Walhalla, ND passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015, at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, where she had resided since 2012. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Walhalla.
Lois was born July 18, 1927 in Saginaw, MI to Herman and Bertha (Schultz) Oehring. She grew up in Saginaw and graduated from Saginaw High School. The family moved to Des Moines, IA in 1948. Lois worked for Gulf Oil and National Traveler Life Insurance for over 30 years before retiring. Later she moved to Beaconsfield, IA where she became mayor. In 2009 she moved to Walhalla. On April 24, 2010, she married Orville Rollefstad at Big Pembina Lutheran Church.
Lois enjoyed waterskiing and was affectionately known as "waterskiing grandma". She also enjoyed doing embroidery work.
Survivors include her husband, Orville; daughter, Linda (Williard) Carpenter, Walhalla; four grandchildren, including Chad and Jon (Malissa) Carpenter; three great-grandchildren; sister, Lorraine House, Niles, MI and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Shirley McBride; brothers: Herman, Jr., Bert, and Harris Oehring and sister, Marguerette Koeplinger.
