Lois Peterson, 84, of Langdon, ND, passed away October 1, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Center of Osnabrock, ND.
Lois Welsh was born April 25, 1923 in Harvey Township to James Hubert (Bert) and Caroline (Dunford) Welsh. She was raised in Harvey Township where she received her education. She went on to attend the Valley City State Teachers College and taught in Park River and Cavalier. Lois and Gerald Peterson were united in marriage on October 30, 1949 in the Harvey Center Methodist church. They made their home and farmed in Loam Township and she taught in the Loam #4 school and in Harvey Township before their children were born. As she kept her home and raised her family, she lived by; ââ¬ï¿½Cleanliness is next to Godlinessââ¬â¢. Lois was also an avid gardener, both of flowers and vegetables. She was a masterful quilter and deeply loved her family, especially enjoying her grandchildren. Lois was active in the South Pembina Lutheran Church and later the United Lutheran Church and enjoyed her church circle.
She is survived by her husband Gerald, children: Lynn Peterson of Bel Air, Maryland; Paul (Debbie) Peterson, Langdon, ND and Lorna (John) Ihle of Barnesville, MN, grandchildren: Matthew Peterson, Ethan Peterson, Mallory Schefter and Caitlin Schefter, her sister Lillian Soderstrom of Devils Lake, ND and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Marcus and Ralph, sisters Blanche Shortridge, Vivian Soderstrom, Helen Kitchin and an infant sister.
VISITATION will begin at 5pm on Friday, October 5, 2007 with a 7:00pm Prayer Service all at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND. Visitation will also take place for one hour before the time of the services at the church on Saturday.
SERVICES Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 2:00pm at the United Lutheran Church of Langdon, ND.
INTERMENT South Pembina Cemetery, Rural Langdon, ND.
