Lois Hoffarth, 83, of Langdon, ND, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019, at Cavalier County Memorial Hospital in Langdon.
Lois Ann Fischer was born January 20, 1936, in Mt. Carmel, ND, to Joe and Mae (Schneider) Fischer. She grew up and attended school in the Maida area. On July 23, 1962, she was united in marriage to Norman Hoffarth in Mt. Carmel, ND. They farmed near Mt. Carmel until 1983 when they moved to Langdon. Lois worked for 35 years in the housekeeping department at Maple Manor Care Center. She enjoyed going out to eat and visiting with her sisters on the phone. She also liked to play cards, eat chocolate, and watch Hallmark Christmas movies. Lois was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
Surviving Lois are her sons: Jeff (Penny) of Langdon, Ed (Jayna) of Langdon, and Carl (Jen) of Langdon; grandsons Hayden and Reese Hoffarth; siblings: Rita Dunnigan, Dorothy Soeby, Joe, Jr. (Sharon) Fischer, Mary Werner, and Randy (Penny) Fischer; and sisters-in-law: Beverly Fischer, Mary Fischer, and June Fischer. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Norman; brothers: Bob, Hugh, and Larry; and brothers-in-law: Raymond Dunnigan, Dick Soeby, and Dennis Werner.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon, ND. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. Rosary and 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at Brooks Funeral Home in Langdon. Burial will be at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Mt. Carmel, ND.
