Loella Blair

September 8, 1932 — May 19, 2012

Loella Blair, 79, of Langdon, ND passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND.

Loella Fae Blair was born September 8, 1932 to Louis and Ella Larson. She attended country school near her parents’ farm and graduated from Langdon High School in 1950. During her high school years, she worked at the Roxy Theater and also as a telephone operator before accepting employment with the L. L. Arnold Insurance Agency. In 1954 Loella was united in marriage to Henry Blair, and they farmed in Maida before moving to the Wales area. They spent many winters in Texas before settling in Langdon in 1989. Loella is the mother of Roger, Brent, Patti, and Craig and is loved by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Loella enjoyed spending time with her friends and being involved in many activities, including the Rebekah Lodge. She was always active in the Methodist churches in Hannah and Langdon and was a “basketball mom”. It seemed like she was always racing out the door with a pan of bars under her arm. Loella will be remembered for her enthusiasm for life, her positive attitude, and her love for her friends and family.

Loella is survived by her husband: Henry; her children: Roger (Deb) of West Fargo, ND, Brent (Pam) of Mankato, MN, Patti (Clyde Strand) of Grand Forks, ND, and Craig of Langdon; grandchildren: Corey, Shawn (Gail), Chris (Kara), Cody, Brandon, Jonathan, Thomas, Lori (Jordan) Grundstrom, Michael Potratz, and Lindsey Potratz; great-grandchildren: Sam Blair and Colton Blair; and siblings: Lottie (Bill) McGauvran, Elwood Larson, Bonnie Jacob-Forseth, and Candace (Ken) Shobe.

VISITATION will be held from 5 to 7pm on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon.

SERVICES will be on Friday, May 25, 2012, at 2pm at the United Methodist Church of Langdon, ND.
