Lloyd Veer

Lloyd Veer, 84, of Walhalla, ND passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at his home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at the Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held Friday, August 19th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND. Burial in the Andvari Cemetery, Cavalier, ND.
Lloyd was born June 19, 1927, at Leyden, ND to Isaac and Freda (Goodman) Veer. He grew up and attended school in the Walhalla area. After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, he returned to Walhalla and worked for Metelmann Farms. Lloyd then farmed and raised livestock and later worked at the P.A.R. Site for several years.
He was married to Georgia Soli and together they had three children.
Survivors include his children: Robert Veer and Gail Veer, both of Walhalla and Carol Veer, Langdon, ND; grandchildren: Ryan, Courtney, Desiree, and Caprice; great grandchildren: Austin, Thomas, Zoey, and MaKayla; and sister: Delores Rene, Seattle, WA.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and brother, Robert Veer.
Clergy: Rev. Don Swenson.
Military Rites: Bartlette-Resler Post #62, Walhalla American Legion.
Music: Anita Mathison, Pianist.
Casket Bearers: Steve Bjornstad, Tom Bjornstad, Mitch Lajimodiere, Tito Romero, Hod Schurman, and David Wieler.
