Lloyd F. Sauer

Lloyd F. Sauer, 82, of Langdon, ND passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013, at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla,ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Langdon, ND. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, July 26th from 5:00p.m. to 7:00 pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service. Burial will be held at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Mount Carmel, ND.
Lloyd Francis Sauer was born March 24, 1931, to Peter and Clara (Kartes) Sauer near Wales, ND. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Knox, KY during the Korea Conflict. After farming for many years, Lloyd worked at the PAR Site in Concrete, ND.
On June 14, 1956, he married Dorothy Schill at Mount Carmel.
He was active in the Farmers Union, Holy Name Society, served on the boards of the Mount Carmel Cemetery and School, and Mount Carmel Township Supervisor. Lloyd was also a member of American Legion, Eagles, Knights of Columbus, and for 22 years served as a director of the ND Snowmobile Association. He was a member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and later St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
Survivors include, Dorothy Sauer; sons, Michael (ShaAnn) Sauer, Langdon, Duane (Gervenna) Sauer, Grand Forks, Carl Sauer, Langdon; daughters, Jacqueline (Tim) Keith, Chadron, NE, Joyce Sauer, Rapid City, SD, Jeanette (Tim) Houle, Baxter, MN, Jennifer (James) Kruize, Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Eric Binfet; Joshua and Jamie Keith; Jason (Kathy), Matthew, and Zoe Houle; Nathan, Hannah, Kylie, and Erin Kruize; great granddaughters: Charlotte and Monica; siblings: Sister Camelita OSF, Hankinson, ND, Bernice Bodensteiner, Grand Forks, ND, Pat Bodensteiner, Walhalla, ND; sisters-in-law: Betty Sauer and Alfreda Sauer, both of Langdon, ND.
Preceding him in death were his parents; infant grandson, Sean Kyle Keith; daughter-in-law, Laurie Sauer; brothers: Dennis, Joseph, Clarence, and John; sister, Ann Fischer; brothers-in-law: Joseph and Herb Bodensteiner, and Neil Fischer.
Celebrant: Rev. Fr. William McDermott; Casket Bearers: Eric Binfet, Joshua Keith, Paul Schneider, Tim Schneider, Vince Schneider, Luke Schill; Honorary Pallbearers: All of Lloyd's Friends and Neighbors; Military Rites: North Dakota Funeral Honor Guard.
