Lewis H. Gooselaw

Lewis H. Gooselaw age 93 of Pembina, ND died on Thursday, March 23, 2006, at the Kittson Memorial Hospital, Hallock, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the Assumption Catholic Church, Pembina, ND. A prayer service will be held Tuesday, March 28th at 7:00 p.m. at the Assumption Catholic Church. Burial in the Pembina Cemetery. Arrangements with Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND.
Lewis H. Gooselaw was born March 19, 1913, to Jerome and Adele (Bruce) Gooselaw. He grew up and attended school at St. Vincent. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army. After his discharge from the service he attended Molar Barber School in Fargo. He worked as a barber for eight years with Andy Helland in Cavalier and then opened his own barber shop in Pembina. His hobbies included gardening, sports especially baseball and golf. Lewis coached little league and Legion baseball in Pembina for several years.
On September 23, 1934, he married Mabel A. Breimon at Hallock, MN. She passed away on February 14, 2005.
He is survived by his daughters, Donna (Vernon) Bennett, Lancaster, MN and Geraldine (James) Gilmore, Iowa Park, TX; grandchildren, Donovan (Linda) Gunnarson, Kurt Gunnarson, Jamie (Danny) Andrews; great grandchildren, D.J. Gunnarson, Kirby Gunnarson, and Jamie Lyn Andrews.
Lewis was also preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and five sisters.
